The reasons and methods for creating these images started after seeing stuffed animals in museums across Europe. I have had a long term passion for animals and the natural world and these museums have interested me visually in a macabre sort of way. I was intrigued how once living animals were made into lifeless objects, to be ordered, classified and held in glass cases as a form of ownership and visual spectacle. For me this perpetuates the view that the natural world exists as something different, a place that can only be understood, once it is ordered and owned, a place that is treated as separate but never equal.
